From the Vineyard - "In the southern Napa Valley 2005 can be characterized by a long growing season, even maturation and an abundant crop. A normal spring and fine weather during bloom set the stage for this extraordinary vintage. May was unusually wet and soil moisture remained high into the summer. A long and relatively moderate growing season followed, ideal for flavor and color development. Ripening continued throughout October and we harvested between October 13 and November 12." Mike Wolf, Vineyard Manager
From the Sommelier - "The 2005 vintage was the perfect confluence of a long even growing season and an abundant harvest. The resulting wines were textbook Napa Valley Cabernet; powerful and fruit driven with ripe, firm tannins allowing for great ageability. It will be a pleasure to revisit these wines after 10-15 years to see all of the potential come together in a seamless package." Jason Alexander, Sommelier and General Manager
From the Winemaker - “Deep, ripe and concentrated. Vibrant, blue/crimson edged color echoed by aro- mas of red and black cherry with current and warm spice overtones of cardamom. Velvety tannins support the pure, focused fruit. Modern ripe fruit flavors and a classic structure-pure cabernet.” Dawnine Dyer, Winemaker
